Tonight’s game postponed… it’s snowing in Detroit

Well, your Sunday night just opened up. It’s been snowing in Detroit most of the morning, enough to register just shy of an inch of snow. Now, if you’re not familiar with how snow works, that may not seem like a lot, but it is. It’s also that lovely fluff, white, sticky kind of snow with temperatures just above freezing. And it’s supposed to taper off into some freezing rain and sleet later tonight. In other words, for the boys of summer, this isn’t exactly ideal conditions to play America’s pastime.

So they opted to postpone the game. No make-up date has been announced as of yet (though several dates later this summer have been thrown around), but all current ticket holders will be able to use their tickets for the make-up game at that time. Please see Comerica Park’s postponed game policy for more information.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend and day off tomorrow. We meet again in Toronto on Tuesday for the first series between division rivals. We’re just getting started with the season, folks! Providing we don’t have any more snow or rain days.

Go Yankees!
